Carta del Mediterraneo tratta dal "SPECULA PHYSICO-MATHEMATICO-HISTORICA NOTABILIUM AC MIRABILIUM SCIENDORUM" dello Zahn, una cosmografia riccamente illustrata.Johann Zahn (1641-1707) apparteneva all’ordine dei canonici premonstratensi di Herbipolis (l’odierna Würzburg) e fu allievo di Kircher. Ideò e creò la camera oscura così come sarà applicata nel suo concetto alle prime macchine fotografiche. La sua opera è sulla scia del gesuità Athanasius Kircher. La carta del Mediterraneo deriva da quella dello stesso Kircher (1665) e rappresenta le correnti marine.Incisione in rame, in ottimo stato di conservazione. Rara. It includes celestial maps after Hevelius, maps of the sun and moon after Eimmart, and world maps, one after Kircher.Johann Zahn (1641-1707) belonged to the order of the Premonstratensian canons of Herbipolis (today's Würzburg) and was a pupil of Kircher. He conceived and created the darkroom as it will be applied in his concept to the first cameras.The map of the Mediterranean derives from that of Kircher himself (1665) and represents the sea currents.Copper engraving, in excellent condition.
