Copper plate, large finely engraved double-sheet panoramic view, joined at the center, 417 x 1174 mm (plate), detailed index in French and German below view, title cartouche featuring an inset map of Portugal, flanked by two explorers, cherubim examining a compass, and Poseidon with his trident. <BR>Published a year after the Great Earthquake that destroyed many of the buildings depicted herein. OCLC locates only two copies: one at Harvard, and the other in the Bibliotheque Nationale in France.<BR>Perfect condition. Very good. <BR>
