No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, very minor trace of foxing to top of page edges and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket clipped but not price clipped or marked or torn or rubbed with very minor creasing to upper edge. 423pp. Considered a classic of anthropology. In 1948 the author undertook the study of a tribe in the remote Vietnamese highland village of Sar Luk about 200 miles north of Saigon. This is the journal of that year. Translated from the French.
