La biblioteca di Italo Calvino è il luogo che esprime il più autentico e profondo riflesso del suo mondo interiore: una raccolta di tutte le idee originarie mobilitate per scrivere e descrivere una visione del mondo sospesa fra un’idea di letteratura e un’idea di sé. Il volume mostra come lavorava Calvino interrogando gli scaffali, le librerie, la biblioteca dello scrittore: vissuta, raccontata, pensata, immaginata, desiderata, passando dal libro ai libri, riconoscendo connessioni invisibili nel disordine vorticoso e caotico del reale. I libri assomigliano a un volo di storni: attraversano il cielo dei nostri paesaggi e passaggi interiori, seguendo un ordine nascosto, un linguaggio segreto, tutto da decifrare.
