AN UNPUBLISHED AUTOGRAPH POEM BY GEORGES ROUAULT: A POETIC APPRAISAL OF J.M.W. TURNER, in which he contrasts Turner's work, interestingly, to that of Claude Lorrain. 22 verses (divided into 6 stanzas) in neat script in black ink on a leaf of ledger paper. WITH A LEAF OF ROUGH DRAFTS FOR THIS POEM, heavily edited. Two leaves in all. In very good condition, with a few minor marginal tears (no loss of text.) Although many artists of the School of Paris tried their hands at poetry, only Rouault succeeded. UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT.
