Sarà sufficiente impiegarli anche nelle “cose” che ci circondano, per praticare una nostra “archeologia del quotidiano”, che ci aiuti a vedere dietro gli oggetti anche il corpo delle persone, il mondo che vive attorno al silenzio delle cose. Tre parole chiave – tecnologia, tipologia e stratigrafia – ci dicono che nulla sfugge all’analisi della base materiale di ogni traccia archeologica; allo studio del rapporto tra forma e funzione, che è all’origine della produzione di qualsiasi manufatto, dal più umile al più eccelso; alla definizione del rapporto spazio/tempo in cui ogni traccia materiale è necessariamente calata. La virtù di questo triangolo sta anche nel fatto che ciascuno dei tre approcci fornisce quelle informazioni specifiche che, relazionate fra di loro, conducono l’archeologo dalle paludi dell’impressione alle strade, impervie ma fruttuose, dell’interpretazione.
