A very pleasing and handsomely bound edition. Large 8vo, in a period binding of full dark-maroon polished calf, the covers with double gilt filled ruled borders enclosing an inner stippled frame in blind, the spine with raised bands gilt ruled, the compartments richly decorated in gilt, green morocco lettering label gilt, blindt tooled turn-ins and gilt board edges, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled. [xxxx], 699 pp. A fine copy, especially well preserved, the binding strong and tight and in pleasing condition, light mellowing to the spine panel as is typical with the colour of the binding, the mellowing to an attractive honey colour.
