Di contro al secolare pregiudizio per cui il linguaggio sarebbe solo il vestito dei concetti, parlare di poetica del testo filosofico significa insistere su ciò per cui il pensiero trova il banco di prova della sua persuasività, e quindi della sua discutibilità, proprio traducendosi nella lettera. È confrontandosi con la letteratura che la filosofia scopre qualcosa di profondo su sé stessa. Mettendo in questione il rapporto tra il pensiero e il linguaggio essa può, infatti, interrogarsi sul proprio potere unitamente al proprio limite, secondo una vocazione critica che funziona solo se congiunta all’esperienza dell’autocritica. Concentrandosi principalmente sul dialogo di Hegel e Merleau-Ponty con altri pensatori e sul loro confronto con le figure e lo stile della letteratura – tra cui spiccano l’<em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Antigone</em> di Sofocle e la <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Recherche </em>di Marcel Proust insieme alle sollecitazioni di René Girard e Theodor W.
