Thick 8vo, bound in the original blue-green cloth, in first state binding with the sides stamped in blind with ruled frame and the publisher's circular device at the center, orange coated endpapers, the spine lettered in gilt, orange coated endleaves, housed in a fine morocco backed foldover case, the spine panel of the case with raised bands gilt tooled, lettered in gilt in two compartments, the other with gilt fillet ruled panels. [5],vi-xxiii, [1], 635, [6] ads. A very pleasing copy. The binding is solid and handsome and has been expertly, very skillfully and sympathetically restored at the back, internally, this is one of the cleanest and freshest copies we have seen, there is only very occasional foxing or mellowing, far less than is usual for the title and the paper stock used, a circumstance which borders on the miraculous for this book. Title with a light bit of the typical foxing. The text block and hinges are solid and tight as are the endleaves. A copy far nicer than is usually encountered. Especially unusual in this condition.<br>
