Tali cambiamenti hanno un riflesso anche nella comunicazione. Occorre allora soffermarsi sulle parole che adoperiamo, non solo per verificarne la correttezza linguistica, ma anche per valutarne il significato in termini di descrizione della realtà circostante. Determinate espressioni a volte vengono utilizzate per consuetudine o perché si è convinti che siano esatte dal punto di vista grammaticale (ad esempio “il ministro” anziché “la ministra”), ma non è sempre così.
