Qual è però il significato, filosofico e giuridico, di questo dogma? Come è stato declinato nelle mutevoli temperie storiche del Novecento e degli anni Duemila? Qual è stata la sua funzione ai primordi dell’agonismo, in età greca e romana, e qual è la sua funzione oggi, in un mondo in cui lo sport è parte di quegli intrecci politici ed economici che lo rendono anche una forma di soft power nelle dinamiche proprie delle relazioni internazionali? E come tenere assieme neutralità politica, valori sportivi e sistema della sicurezza globale quando sussistono situazioni di conflitto tra Stati e quindi, in maniera esplicita o latente, tra compagini e atleti che si devono poi affrontare sui campi di gara? I saggi contenuti nel volume rispondono a questi interrogativi da una pluralità di prospettive che coinvolgono il diritto, la filosofia, la storia, l’antropologia.
