Descrizione
This is a very good softcover copy with just light cover soil and wear. Very clean inside, one drop of coffee to the edge of the front cover near the spine. This book grew out of a lecture delivered to the Municipal Art Society in April 1985. Foreword by David Garrard Lowe. At the turn of the 20th century the neighborhood just south of Madison Square, to Union Square, now generally known as the Flatiron District, was called in the press of the day 'the Ladies Mile'. It was this district in the 1880's that women of means flocked to for clothing, jewelry, finery of all kinds. Illustrated in black & white with contemporary photographs by Truman Moore, archival photographs, reproductions of period advertising, etc. Map of the district with notes to the buildings indicated on it. 8" high X 11" wide, 63 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and shipped with tracking.
