Fu anche direttrice di compagnia &nbsp;e capocomica, creatrice di spettacoli e non solo di interpretazioni. Insieme a Pirandello, è stata forse l’artista più grande e innovativa del teatro italiano. E tuttavia resta da decifrare il segreto della sua presa sul pubblico, della sua tecnica, del suo fascino, e resta da capire quale fosse il suo progetto, e quali i bisogni, le strategie, e le ferite da cui faceva nascere i suoi spettacoli. Eleonora Duse ha trasformato il senso stesso del fare teatro, dandogliene uno nuovo: non più cultura, o piacere, o arte, ma scossa, profondo sconvolgimento esistenziale.
