8vo., Third Edition, with coloured frontispiece, numerous plates in monochrome and illustrations in the text, some faint offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; green cloth, gilt back, backstrip gilt a little dulled else a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter with minor loss (just affecting lettering) at head of backstrip. Detailed account by an acknowledged master, covering every species planted commercially in Britain. This is the considerably expanded version of the original edition published in 1944. With wrap-around dustwrapper artwork by Brian Cook.
