This is a very good softcover copy with almost mo wear. Completely clean. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the New York Mitsukoshi on Park Avenue from February 18 to March 1, 1980. Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891) was both a lacquer artist and a painter, this show has examples of both of these pursuits. The first section is paintings with 43 works catalogued. The second section is lacquer works with 14 pieces catalogued for a total of 57 works. Each one with a full description of materials, style, etc. All illustrated, most in color. Fold-outs. Glossary. 10" high X 9" wide, unpaginated but about 100 pages. Laid in is the announcement flyer for the event. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
