The photos depict Pompidou and his wife, Nigerien President Hamani Diori and his wife, Jacques Foccart (France's "Mr. Africa", the chief advisor on the colonies and former colonies, the person for whom this album was made), various other dignitaries, native dancers, riders on horseback and camelback, etc. TITLE-PAGE BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED IN CALLIGRAPHY, WITH THE FLAGS OF FRANCE AND NIGER PAINTED IN GOUACHE. Oblong folio (30 x 42 cm). Elegantly bound in full snakeskin. Binding a bit worn but still solid. Internally FINE AND BRIGHT. UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT.
