The great success of this work led to several reprints, like this one which was printed in the year of the first edition. It is present here with the full text. This book work was edited following J. G. Zimmermann's (1728-1795) "Betrachtungen über die Einsamkeit" of 1756. The author, one of the dazzling figures of the Enlightenment, was in contact with Goethe, Lessing, Lavater, Haller, etc. The present work shows again Zimmermann's sophisticated character as a passionale reformer.
