The medical doctor and professor of natural history and medical sciences Ferdinand Gottlieb von Gmelin (1782-1848) was the promotor, not the author, as correctly noted in the British Museum Catalogue. Some wear and light soiling to the covers, otherwise very good, clean. Cat. BM(NH) p. 684.
