LIMITED FIRST EDITION, one of 1250 hand-numbered copies, being number 222. With over sixty illustrations from photographs, drawings and sketches, decorated titlepage printed in black and red. Large 8vo, in the original green cloth backed in rubberized black cloth, the upper cover lettered and decorated in gilt, the lettering on the spine, as is normal for this title, has darkened to near invisibility due to the chemical composition of the rubberized black cloth. xxii, 329pp. A nice copy, solid and clean, internally rather fine and fresh and with little evidence of use or age, the green cloth only lightly mellowed, the gilt bright but for near the edge of the backing strip as it is affected as usual by thel composition of the spine material.
Edizione: a classic derrydale sporting book and an impressively written work on horse training. the author lieutenant-colonel of the u.s. army cavalry and was author riding and schooling horses, of one of the best volumes on the subject to date.
