Edizione: limited edition of one of the great new york authors, signed by its illustrator. while porter (who published under several pseudonyms but is mostly remembered as o. henry) was not a native to new york, he relocated there after being released from prison in ohio and wrote 381 stories while living in the city. his wit, characterization, and plot twists were adored by his readers. twenty of them are collected here, including his most famous- 'the gift of the magi'.<br> george grosz was an important german artist who had made fame for himself in europe for his drawings and paintings of berlin life in the 1920s. bitterly anti-nazi, he emigrated to the united states in 1933, where he exhibited regularly and taught for many years at the art students league of new york.
