Early edition. With an engraved frontispiece of "The Town Pump". 8vo, in the original binding of full tan calf, the spine with flat bands gilt ruled and a simple black morocco label ruled and lettered in gilt. xvi, 300pp. Internally in extremely good condition for a school book of the period. These are normally found badly used, stained and foxed but this copy is solid, clean and fresh with bright white paper and dark text, nearly unheard of in this condition. The binding is worn and the front hinge is starting but still attached.
