8vo., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece in photogravure, title in red and black, 4 plates in photogravure (original tissue guards present) and very numerous illustrations (a number full-page) in the text, a few leaves frayed at bottom margin, last few leaves lightly damp-marked at bottom margin; original navy cloth, upper board blocked in gilt, gilt back, gilt top, uncut, blue endpapers, hinges reinforced (thus binding entirely sound), covers mildly age-soiled else a bright, clean working copy. Sold from an institution with its bookplate on front paste-down, and press-marks on front endpaper verso and half-title. A sound working copy.
