About the Book :-The book contains the list 'on the Bengal establishment, exhibiting the rank, standing and various services of every officer in the army’ in the interest of the colonial rule during the 19th century.’ Also included the list are Officers Commanding Her Majesty's Regiments and Troops, of all Arms are directed to introduce, in the column of remarks of the Nominal List of their Officers sent monthly to the Military Secretary and Adjutant General H. M. Forces, the appropriate letters, in red ink, indicating the subjects in which Officers, under their Command, have passed, or may pass in future. The words subscribed to the titles of Regiments, as ‘Peninsula’, ‘Waterloo’, and denote the Honorary Distinctions permitted to be borne by such Regiments on their Colours and Appointments, in commemoration of their Services.
