Illustrated with 24 full-page colour plates by John Austen and many black and white illustrations throughout the text. Thick 4to, publisher’s original tan polished cloth lettered in gilt on the spines and upper cover, and with the fine gilt pictorial vignette on the upper cover, in the elusive original green, white and black printed and decorated dustjackets, decorated endleaves. xxvi, 374; x, 375-759, [3] pp. An excellent set in original dustjackets. Beautifully preserved, essentially as pristine, both books and dustjackest in fine condition.
