Cairo, Finance Ministry Survey Department, Egypt, 1906. 4to (26.3 x 17.8 cm) viii, 411 pp., one folded coloured map of the Nile basin and 49 plates and maps (partly folded and coloured). Red half morocco over marbled boards. Spine with five raised bands, gilt title on spine. = Important book on the Nile, including the Blue Nile, White Nile, River Sobat, Lake Plateau etc. With many maps and charts, and a large index. Also with a large, well-ilustrated meteorological section. Scarce, and usually found with extensive library markings. This copy is much better. Half title soiled, former owner's inscription on title page, otherwise clean. In all a very good and nicely bound copy.
