This is a scarce exhibition catalog. This is a signed presentation copy of this book. It was the first high quality survey of the entire range of North American Indian art. It also focused on the aesthetic aspects of the works, and not just their utilitarian purpose. A very important catalog. This is a very good softcover copy which has not been used very much. The covers are bright and unmarked, and the text and plates are completely clean, (minor creases to a few pages). 4to size, 11" high X 9" wide. 351 pages, 33 color plates and 566 black & white illustrations.
