First edition, consisting of only 1500 copies, far scarcer then the English issue. 8vo, publisher’s original brown cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, with the scarce original dustjacket preserved. 357 pp. A fine copy of the book with just a bit of mild bumping to the corners, the scarce jacket is generally complete but with evidence of old repairs and some loss and separation, now protected wrap-over cover, and there is some light fading to some portions of the cloth where light shown through breaks in the dustjacket.
