Translated by Edward Augustus Kendall from the French edition ëLa chaumiËre indienneí, Paris, 1791. This Dublin edition was published in the same year as the first English edition. With the armorial bookplate of ëBiddleí, and a presentation inscription on front-free endpaper ìChistine H. Biddle from R. P.
