London, British Ornithological Union, 1923. 8vo. xl, 828 pp.; 17 plates (one coloured). Original red embossed cloth with gilt title on the spine, and gilt vignette on the front board. Top edge gilt. Original wrappers preserved and bound in at the back. = A volume from one of the longest running and most influential ornithological magazines. Especially the earlier years, with fine plates by Keulemans, Grönvold and others, are very uncommon and sought-after. Disbound. Spine slightly sunned, as usual. Small whole in spine and some slight wear to top and bottom edge of the spine. Ex-libris of S. Dillon Ripley 2nd, pasted in on verso front board.
