Large 8vo, very handsomely bound by Bickers and Son, London in fine three-quarter polished calf over marbled paper covered boards, the spines richly gilt with elaborated crosshatch gilt work in the compartments and central gilt ornamental devices decorating portions of the spine, one compartment lettered in gilt, another with green morocco numbering piece surrounded by fine gilt tooling, marbled endleaves and edges. xxiii, 451; viii, 448; viii, 436; vii, 462 pp. A fine set in beautifully preserved condition with very little evidence of age or use, and that, primarily from shelving, the bindings tight and strong, the text-blocks clean and crisp. An especially appealing set.
