Original green embossed cloth with gilt title on the spine and gilt floral vignette on the front board. Yellow endpapers. All edges gilt. = This volume was published in addition to the author's Flowering plants of Great Britain. This is the first, undated issue, with superior illustrations. It may have been published earlier than 1870. Lower corners slightly bumped and worn, but otherwise a very nice publisher's deluxe binding. A few text pages with limited foxing, but mostly clean; all the plates clean and fresh. A very good copy. Stafleu and Cowan, 8277.
