Washington, DC, Smithsonian Institution, 1918. Thick 8vo (23.3 x 15.1 cm). 483 pp., 172 text illustrations, 161 plates. Later red blind half cloth over red marbled boards. = An important monograph, with excellent descriptions and illustrations, and including many new and poorly known species. The plates, on glossy paper, are much better than in later reprints. Usually found in wrappers, but this copy is bound. Publication date corrected with ink stamp on the title page verso; weak blindstamp netly placed on title page, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
