Text (1920) cxxxvi, 357 pp., 77 text engravings and 70 plates, many of which are in full colour. Atlas (1903) [ii] pp.; 103 distribution maps. Original near uniform dark green cloth (text volume slightly taller). Text volume embossed and with gilt title on the spine; Atlas volume with limp boards and gilt title on the front board. = This is the enlarged second edition with all the excellent coloured plates. 69 species are illustrated in full colour. Dean only quotes the first edition with 55 plates. Small former owner's inscription (Hank Sather) on both front free endpapers; a few taxonomical corrections (by Sather?), otherwise a very good clean set. Dean I, p. 406.
