Illustrated by Lynton Lamb. 8vo, in a very attractive contemporary binding by Bayntun of Bath, being three-quarter crushed green morocco over green cloth-covered boards, the spine with tall blind-ruled bands between compartments with central gilt tools of old time fishing gear, two compartments gilt lettered, t.e.g. xii, [1], 272pp. A very handsome copy, the spine mellowed a bit as is always the case with green morocco.

Edizione: a very handsome production, for their edition of this great classic the folio society used as source the 1676 fifth edition, long considered to be the definitive version having walton's final revisions, and having been the first to include the "second part" contributed by his friend charles cotton. some modernization of spelling and punctuation was employed to make this reprint more accessible to modern readers. <br> lynton lamb has illustrated the book throughout with designs that in size and subject mimic the woodcuts found in many 19th century editions, but given a modern almost pointillist touch.
