First Edition thus, being the First Edition Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. With 12 very fine colour plates with captioned tissue guards, as well as numerous line drawings and silhouette-decorated endpapers, pictorially decorated title-page printed in green and black, all by Arthur Rackham. Tall, royal 8vo, handsomely bound in full dark-green crushed morocco by Bayntun-Riviere of Bath, England, the covers with single gilt fillet rule to the borders, the spine with raised bands gilt stopped, the compartments of the spine with gilt ruled panels and central gilt tooling of fish and fishing motifs, two compartments lettered in gilt, gilt rules to the edges, double gilt rules to the turnovers and gilt cornerpieces, marbled endleaves, all edges gilt. 224. A very handsome copy of this fine edition, the text is completely free of any spotting, the plates all fine, some light mellowing to the dark green of the spine and an area of the lower cover.
