Probabilmente il più grande, o almeno il più influente, lungo poema del 18° secolo; nel tempo il capolavoro di Young, una narrazione quasi autobiografica in versi, sarebbe stato illustrato da Blake e letto con molta attenzione da Wordsworth e Coleridge, e rimase popolare per tutto il XIX secolo. Arguably the greatest, or at least the most influential, long poem of the 18th century; in time Young's masterpiece, a quasi-autobiographical narrative in blank verse, would be illustrated by Blake and read with close attention by Wordsworth and Coleridge, and it remained popular throughout the 19th century.
