8vo., on laid paper, with engraved allegorical frontispiece; strongly bound in contemporary full calf, back with raised bands, second compartment wanting label, all other compartments numbered and tooled in gilt, expertly rebacked with old backstrip laid down, a crisp, clean copy. The first volume includes lives of Wolsey, Thomas More, Fisher Bishop of Rochester, Cromwell Earl of Essex, Howard Duke of Norfolk, Archbishop Cranmer, Cardinal Pole, Sebastian Cabot and others. VERY SCARCE.
