Pope’s emblem in a decorated frame. Large and richly decorated xyl. head- and final-pieces. Xyl. initials. Text in Latin, printed in two columns. First volume only, out of two, of this treatise on Synods by Pope Benedict XIV, first published in Rome in 1748. Benedict XIV (Benedictus PP. XIV, born Prospero Lorenzo Lambertini) was Pope from 17 August 1740 to his death in 1758. Ref.: IT\ICCU\RMGE\001689.
