The chronicle of the Grisons by Fortunat Sprecher of Bernegg (1585-1647), first published as "Pallas Rhaetica" in 1617. It is equally appreciated for its elegant Latin prose and its reliability and objectivity. He describes the history, wars, and alliances of Raetia as it was then called in an exemplary way. - Bookplate "J.
