Original printed wrappers. = Description of a well-preserved Flora and including many new species (the great majority), and some described by others. Nicely illustrated. This is a sequel to an earlier work by the same authors on the same Palaeocene flora (ca. 58 MYBP). Louis Charles Joseph Gaston Marquis de Saporta (1823-1895) was a great specialist in fossil plants. Apart from strictly descriptive taxonomical works he wrote extensively about the origin and palaeontology of plants. Uncut. Spine split, wrapper edges a bit chipped, otherwise very good, with clean plates. Stafleu and Cowan, 10.274.
