Spine with gilt title. = This work consists of two parts; both in ten chapters. The first part is by Gill, describing the a history of the geodetic surveys since 1752, describing equipment, and providing astronomical observations. The second part is "Colonel Morris' report", describing the procedures, and the actual measurements. Without a general title page, edges of the preface, by L. Marquard, repaired, otherwise a good, clean copy.
