With a long, signed and dated dedication by the author, on the half-title to "Monsieur le Professeur Moquin Tandon". This could not be the French botanist, malacologist and invertebrate zoologist Christian Horace Benedict Alfred Moquin-Tandon who died 30 years earlier - perhaps the recipient was a son or grandson of Alfred Moquin-Tandon. Léon Wammes (1867-1938) was "Professeur de zoologie appliquée" at the Faculté des sciences de Toulouse, and Director of the Institut d'hydrobiologie et de pisciculture de l'Université de Toulouse. Uncut. Binding a bit weak, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Very uncommon.
