G (no dj, brown cloth bevel edged boards with stamped black borders and central black motif front board, blind tooled borders back board, attractive decorative title panels in gilt/black on spine, light wear top of spine and lightly frayed at bottom, corners lightly rubbed, clean brown endpapers, front hinge heavily cracked but string binding holding firm, tissue guard pre-title page but no frontispiece, foxing prelims and first few pages, the unmarked pages are generally clean and bright with occasional faint foxing, scattered spotting to fore-edges occasionally encroaching on edges of margins,an early hinge is weak else the binding is firm) 12mo 670pp plus 16pp publisher's list. With illustrations printed in colours. 7 colour plates (? presumably frontis missing).
