Marbled endpapers. = A seldom-seen original copy of this well-illustrated work by the French botanist Louis Trabut (1853-1929). There are various modern reprints, but none matches the original. Provenance: with in the top outer corner of the title page a stamp "Don de M. Roger de Cordemoy - Bibliotheque de M. Jacob de Cordemoy Professeur à la Faculté", i.e., the French medical doctor and botanist from Réunion, Eugène Jacob de Cordemoy (1835-1911); and on the first blank verso an ornamental bookplate of the French botanist Philippe Woltz (b. 1940). Slight irregularities to the lower edge of the title page; otherwise a very good, clean copy. Stafleu and Cowan, 14812.
