An uncommon book, but this copy is special as it contains, on the half title, a handwritten dedication by the author's son to Robert Villatte des Prûgnes. Xavier [or François-Xavier] Raspail (1844-1926) was a French medical doctor and ornithologist. Villatte des Prûgnes (1869-1965) was a French agronomist, ornithologist and writer of books about hunting, fishing and country life. Uncut, as published.
