No wrappers. = A fine, detailed study by the English geologist George [Julius] Poulett Scrope FRS (1797- 1876), who had a special interest in volcanos, on the geology and palaeontology of the Pontine Archipelago, off the coast of Italy, roughly between Rome and Salerno, in particular Ponza, Palmarola, Zannone, Ventotiene (= Ventotene) and San Stefano. The islands are characterized by complex topography and geology, partly involving volcanism. Published in the Society's Transactions volume II. Uncut. A very good, clean copy.
