Spine with four gilt-starred raised bands, pillar-like embossing, and gilt title. Marbled edges. = Rare only edition in an very good, contemporary binding. One of the most interesting aspects of this work is the annotated list of known volcanos, with detailed observations on their locality, morphology, history, etc., etc., as known over 150 years ago. Includes "pseudovulcanische" events too. Georg Landgrebe (1802-1873) was a German geologist and chemist. Some light shelfwear, otherwise in very good condition. Zittel, 397, 419, 427.
