Paris, Gabon, 1827. 4to (27.1 x 21.9 cm). 152 pp.; seven engraved plates of which four finely hand-coloured. Original printed wrappers. = An important monograph by the medical doctor, botanist and zoologist - chiefly malacologist - Christian Horace Benedict Alfred Moquin-Tandon (1804-1863). First edition, dedication copy, inscribed by the author in the top margin of the front wrapper, to a "Monsieur De Bronveau fils", about whom we do not ave any other information. A second edition was published in 1846. Uncut. Old repairs to spine, partial paper loss in the front wrapper fore margin (not affecting the printed surface), the underlying cardboard, however, intact; otherwise a very good, clean copy.
