Paris, Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris, 1867. Large 4to (32.1 x 25.0 cm). 20 pp., one double-sized engraved plate with five figures. Disbound. = The description of a large palaeozoic reptile, Pleuracanthus frossardi. Gaudry sent this paper to Charles Darwin, who kindly replied and, for instance, remarked: "I am aware that there are very few naturalists in France who at all concur with our views & therefore I presume you will meet with much opposition" (Darwin letter 5554). A very good, clean copy.
