Clermont-Ferrand, Thibaud-Landriot, 1829. 8vo (22.0 x 14.0 cm). 57 pp.; two large, folded plates with views and cross-sections. Original printed title page acting as front wrapper. Transparent protective sleeve. = Rare early paper on the geological structure and in particular the transition between volcanic and sedimentary layers of the Auverge region in central France, by "le docteur Peghoux". The medical doctor Auguste Péghoux (1796-1858) wrote much about the local history, demography, hygiene, and geology. This is the offprint from the Annales de l'académie de Clermont, with new pagination. Spotted throughout though the plates cleaner.
